Review - Hand Warmers by "Designs by Daisy"

We all know that winter is here and we are all stuffing up our closets with warm clothes, sweaters, mufflers and loads and loads of jackets and coats. For me, winter affects my hands and feet the most so i am looking forward for ways to keep my hands and feet warm. I have gloves but somehow gloves make writing, typing and other activities a bit tedious for me so i was looking forward for something that would help me keep my hands warm while letting my fingers breathe openly. I never knew something like this existed until I visited a small home based business called "Designs by Daisy".

I was amazed with the variety and quality of their products. As a trial I got myself two beautiful pairs of hand warmers from "Designs by Daisy".

The pairs I chose were beautiful dark maroon & a green with touch  of sky blue; both of these are beautifully woven. Each pair is very warm also and thankfully leaves my fingers open which help me do my typing easily n quickly.

They are made from wool and you can get them in many colors and designs. This is my first order with them and I am surely ordering more in different colors and designs. They do take about 1-2 weeks in delivery once your order is placed but let me tell you the wait is totally worth the results. I am pretty sure it is going to be lovely having matching hand warmers with my dresses ;) :P They serve the purpose of keeping my hands very warm and it's definitely a must have for all you stylish girls out there.

postheadericon Review - Saeed Ghani's Aloe Vera Serum

I am a hugeeeeeeee fan of the herbal products and homemade diy's for the skincare and Aloe Vera is one of my favorite herbs for skin care. I even have an aloe vera plant at my home for quick skincare recipes.
Recently I came across aloe vera serum in Saeed Ghani's shop and I just HAD to try this out.
It is a small bottle and comes with a spray. The liquid is clear and almost odorless.
It is not too much high priced and I got it for PKR 90/- from Saeed Ghani's shop in Super Market Islamabad.
Now lets come to the results ... honestly I didnt expect it to do wonders overnight and was just using the first bottle I purchased as a regular regime before my moisturizer. After using it only for about 5 days regularly, I started seeing visible difference in my skin, my pores were never open or big but I felt the difference in my skin and refined pores after using this serum. My skin was more supple, and felt more firm. The complexion was even toned to quite a good extent. I also felt the really fine lines disappearing thus making my skin more young and fresh.
Initially I didnt understand what made my skin so vibrant in just 5 days but then I realized that it was the only new thing in those days that I had started using. All the other stuff that I applied on my skin was the same and nothing had changed. I was really impressed by the product's results and I am surely recommending it to all of you girls out there.
For your reference, I am also writing down the way I used this serum as this might be of some help for you people:
  1. My first step in the night was to cleanse my skin using a cleanser and cotton. The cleanser I have been using for almost 2-3 years is Garnier Skin Naturals Essentials Grape Water Makeup Remover Milk. Read Review here.
  2. After cleansing my skin thoroughly with the cleanser, when the cotton ball stops to pick anymore dirt and dust from your face. I applied plain rose water on my face with a cotton ball. Rose water is a natural, less expensive and great toner and I refrain from using any other toners with harsh chemicals in them.
  3. Now here is where the serum from Saeed Ghani jumps in. I apply it before applying my moisturizer. Just a few sprays either directly on my face or on my hands and then applying on my face did the trick.
  4. After applying the serum, I waited for a while till it dried and then applied my usual moisturizer. I normally use Clean & Clear Oil free moisturizer but during the winters I use Ponds Moisturizing Cold Cream. I massage the moisturizer softly on my face.
In the morning, my routine was the following:
  1. I washed my face with the usual face wash and dried it.
  2. Applied the Saeed Ghani Aloe Vera Serum on face.
  3. Applied my usual moisturizer the same way I did during the night regime.
Have any of you girls used this serum? Please share your thoughts. I would love to hear from you.
Also, I would also tell you in a future post that how can you make aloe vera serum yourself at your home. Isn't that GREAT.
Have fun all you ladies !!!

Basic Lip Care & a DIY Lip Scrub

Hey my beauties, I am sure all of you girls must have faced the dry, flaky lips issue at least once in your life. Well, for me, its kind of a routine issue which occurs every two months or so. However, I have found a cool tip which is very simple and effective.

However, first I will discuss a few things which you need to do to keep your lips hydrated:
  1. Drink lots of water - Simple!
  2. Always apply a thin layer of lip blam/petroleum jelly before going to bed.
  3. If you have VERY dry lips which often bleed, try this one simple tip. Put 2-3 drops of olive oil (or any oil will do) in your belly button. Lock with a cotton ball; and go to sleep. Your lips will be softy soft the next morning. You can repeat this everyday.
  4. Stop biting your lips.
There are many exfoliants and lip scrubs available in the market but I am always up for something which is less expensive and quicker than all of these things. I have tried a number of things but here I am going to share with you the simplest and the easiest thing which i found to be working the best.

Here are two simple things you will need for this easy recipe:
  1. Sugar - Yes, plain sugar ... Quantity depends on how flaky your lips are; but 1 tablespoon is more than enough. If you are a regular in applying this scrub then 1 tea spoon is sufficient for you.
  2. Petroleum jelly. I use Vaseline Petroleum jelly but any unscented petroleum jelly will do for you.
  3.
  4.

Now, here is what you have to do, remove any lipstick or lip gloss you have on your lips, dip your finger in the petroleum jelly and then dip it in sugar. Now your finger will have sugar crystals stuck to it. Rub these crystals gently on your lips in small circular motions. Dont be very harsh because if your lips are very dry, harsh rubbing can result in bleeding. Repeat it for about 3-5 minutes. You will feel your lips flake free and freshly colored (yes thats the color of your new skin which was hiding behind the flakes). After being done with it, wash your hands, dry your lips. You can also use soap on the lips to wash away the greasy and sticky feeling if you want. After cleaning and drying out your lips, apply plain petroleum jelly or any lip balm you like.

You can repeat the above scrub recipe every week. Its simple and quick. Share your comments after trying this out girls.

DIY - Makeup Stuff holderl

I love DIY projects and reusing stuff which normally people throw away.
Recently I came across an idea and simply loved it. I practically implemented it and want it to share with all of you. The best thing is that it makes use of the item that we throw away ... Yes ... Tissue Paper Rolls. People hardly save these and throw these away as soon as a new tissue roll is required. But hello, you can use these rolls for a number of DIY projects; so you better start saving them up. Let me tell you what you might need for this project:
  1. Tissue Paper Rolls. As many as you want
  2. A cardboard tray - I used a shoe box cover (recycling here too)
  3. Wrapping Paper - Any print that you like
  4. Glue/tape
  5. Scissors
  • The first step is to cut the wrapping sheet in equal sizes to cover the tissue paper rolls completely and then glue the wrapping sheet to the individual rolls. You can use different prints for the wrapping sheets but I used the same sheet on all of the rolls
  • After that you can wrap the tray/shoe box cover with the printed sheet as well. I did not cover mine as it was already a very good print so I didnt feel like covering it.
  • After this I glued the tissue rolls on the shoe box cover and placed them in a regular pattern.
  • Let it dry overnight and TA-DA !!! you have your very own makeup stuff tray with holders the next morning.
  •

I am in love with this creation and I have many more ideas to use these cardboard rolls in. Will be sharing with you !!
